1. Who we are
Histozon is operated by Boisseau, a French micro-entrepreneur. Contact: contact@histozon.com. The Histozon Chrome extension and the website histozon.com are the “Service”.
2. What the extension sends to our server
The extension only runs on the 8 supported European Amazon stores (amazon.fr, .de, .it, .es, .nl, .com.be, .pl, .se). It reads nothing on other websites. It sends to our server (api.histozon.com):
- When you open an Amazon product page: the product identifier (ASIN), the store, the displayed price and currency, the product title and image address, together with your device ID. This builds the price history shown to all users.
- When you compare prices: the ASIN. The extension may also read, from your browser, the public price of the same product on the other European Amazon stores, and sends these prices to our server.
- When you track a product: the ASIN and the store, with your device ID, so that our server checks its price every 6 hours and can warn you of a price drop.
The device ID is a random identifier created by the extension when it is installed. It is not linked to your name, email address or Amazon account.
3. What the website sends
The comparator on histozon.com sends the ASIN you search for to our server. The watchlist and alert settings of the website stay in your browser (localStorage) and are never sent to us.
4. What we do not collect
Your name, email address, postal address, Amazon account, payment details, or anything about the websites you visit outside Amazon.
5. IP addresses and technical logs
Our server needs your IP address to answer requests and to limit abuse; for that it only keeps it in memory. In its logs, the IP address of requests from the extension and the website is replaced by a one-way fingerprint whose key changes every day and is never stored, so it cannot be traced back to your IP. Only requests that come neither from the extension nor from the website (for example automated scans) are logged with their full IP address, for security. Logs may include your device ID and are deleted automatically after about five weeks; logs recorded before 30 September 2026 still contain full IP addresses until they are deleted. The website histozon.com is hosted by o2switch, whose servers keep standard access logs.
6. Cookies, analytics and local storage
Website: Google Analytics measures the audience only if you accept it in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time with “Customize”. No other tracking cookie is used.
Extension: your watchlist, the price history of the products you viewed and your settings (comparison widget, preferred currency) are stored in your browser (chrome.storage.local). The device ID is stored in chrome.storage.sync, which Chrome copies between your own browsers if Chrome sync is on.
7. Affiliate links
Histozon is a participant in the Amazon Associates program. Links to Amazon in the extension and on the website carry our associate tag for the store concerned: dyspro-21 (amazon.fr), histozonde-21 (amazon.de), histozonit-21 (amazon.it), histozones-21 (amazon.es), histozonnl-21 (amazon.nl), histozonbe-21 (amazon.com.be), histozonpl-21 (amazon.pl), histozonse-21 (amazon.se). While the extension is active, it also adds this tag to the Amazon product links on the Amazon pages you visit, replacing any tag already present. If you buy after following such a link, Amazon pays us a commission. The price you pay is the same. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
8. Your rights (GDPR)
You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, and to object to its processing. Our data is only linked to a random device ID that we cannot associate with you, so you can act directly: removing a product from your watchlist deletes it from our server, and uninstalling the extension deletes all the data stored in your browser. Price records linked to your device ID are deleted automatically after 90 days. For any other request, write to contact@histozon.com; we answer within 30 days.
9. Service providers
- OVH SAS (France) hosts our server (api.histozon.com).
- o2switch (France) hosts the website histozon.com.
- Google Ireland Ltd provides Google Analytics on the website, only with your consent.
- open.er-api.com provides exchange rates. It receives no user data, only currency codes.
To compare prices, our server reads public Amazon product pages. It only sends the product identifier to Amazon, never data about you.
10. Data retention
- Price records linked to a device ID: 90 days (reduced to one price per day after 30 days).
- Price history per product, not linked to any device: kept to build the price history.
- Tracked products on our server: until you remove them from your watchlist.
- Technical logs: about five weeks.
- Data stored in your browser: until you uninstall the extension or clear it.
